In these days of Nickel Creek and String Cheese Incident (who I sometimes can tolerate) newgrass, it's nice to step outside and take a deep breathe into clean air of Gillian Welch. Her songs are so sad and picturesque. The tragedy and richness of the Southern culture are given their twangy voice.
Annabelle and
One More Dollar are my current favorites.

Hey Austin,
I'm glad to see that you're back to blogging. We like Gillian, too. Actually, we saw her in concert a few years ago. She was with Jay Farrar at the Pagent. I think that my favorites will always be "Paper Wings" and "Orphan Girl".
Eli is standing here as I write this and he says to tell you that he really likes you and can't forget you.
Say hi to Megan for us.
Ann,
I've been thinking about Ms. Liz a lot these last few weeks, she was great. She loved those boys and she loved spoiling them with candy and popcorn too!
"Orphan Girl" was my first favorite song. I love the progression of the song from emptiness to one day experiencing the fullness of family.
